BRYC Night at DC United was everything you could want, and more, but if you left early you missed half the excitement. After sprinting out to a 3-1 lead, the Red and Black had to hang on, and score again late, to secure a 4-3 win over the New York Red Bulls in the highest scoring contest of the season at RFK, giving the flag bearer a workout with runs around the field after each DC United goal.

Leave early? Not the BRYC faithful. After arriving early to picnic in the parking lot and and take their places as ball kids and tunnel greeters, the 625 BRYC attendees (far and away the largest BRYC contingent ever to get together for one game) rocked the stands until the end, showing their support with posters, and cheering almost as loud as the Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava on the other side of the stadium.

DC United players are providing training for BRYC’s junior division age groups this season, providing a personal relationship between the two organizations that couldn’t be stronger. With its win over New York, DC United locked up first place in the Eastern Division as it prepares for the final games of the regular season and the quest for the MLS to follow. BRYC wishes nothing but the best to DC United in the upcoming quest for their fifth MLS Cup Championship. BRYC families are expected to fill the stands with blue and gray jerseys at DC united’s remaining games this season.
