Fall 2016 BRYC Players Help Teach the Coaches

Robinson HS Upper Turf - December 10 & 11:  Because BRYC wants our coaches to be the best they can be for the kids in our communities we regularly host VYSA coach's licensing classes. At each class, players are needed to serve as the "team" while the coaches are instructed, practice what they learn and are eventually evaluated.

Over the weekend of December 10 & 11, BRYC hosted the VYSA D Evaluation Course. It was a chilly weekend, and yet many of our players chose to volunteer their time to give back to the sport and to support the coaches in our area.

Participating teams included:  John Kelleher's Friday Night Lights, Maggie Legum's Panthers (and friends), James Sullivan's DANGER! (and friends), Melissa Dennison's Gunners and Knights, Bob Heyer's Magic and Carlos Merino's FPYC Lions.

Super volunteers were IK from Friday Night Lights, who played the entire weekend (10 hours of soccer over 2 days!); and Fredy and Danny Vern from Magic (8 hours of soccer over 2 days!).

BRYC Coaches Maggie Legum and Marcelo Morales were among the coaches being evaluated for the D License. We wish them all our best as they wait for the results to come back.

BRYC is VERY PROUD of our young people who so generously gave their time this weekend, despite the cold weather. Youth sports teach life lessons in so many different ways, and instilling the desire to give back to grow something you love is definitely a life lesson worth learning.
