BRYC Giving Back at the Hunt Country Classic...

... or "What happens to the equipment we donate at Uniform Night?"

November 18 - Every season at Uniform Night there is a table where you can donate gently used equipment to the club. Players or coaches can take the gear, if they need it... and what is left at the end of the night is boxed up and donated to different organizations that run soccer programs in underpriviledged areas. This year, at the Hunt Country Classic as part of a Boy Scout Eagle project, collections of gently used soccer equipment were taken at various fields to be donated to Goals Beyond the Net, a non-profit organization working to change the lives of children in Haiti.

BRYC was able to donate:   11 pairs of cleats, 33 jerseys, 11 pairs of soccer shorts, 2 pairs of soccer pants, 11 pairs of shinguards, 3 soccer bags, 29 water bottles, 2 goalie jerseys, 26 pairs of socks, approximately 300 unused All Star jerseys from previous seasons (that's about 20 teams worth of jerseys!)

Members of U15B BRYC Elite Dynamo (coached by Anthony Pagano and Julie Little) and U13G BRYC Promise (coached by Joan Smith and James Sullivan) represented BRYC at the donation sites.

This was a great opportunity for our players to have a lesson in giving back, and to share the power of youth sports with others.
