2015 Spring - 4th Annual Spring Coach's Challenge

The Girl's Coaches Win in a 5-1 Game!

Here's what the Coach's Challenge is ALL about...

... celebrating our coaches and their families. And the KIDS getting to cheer their parent on (for a change)!

The 4th Annual Spring Coach's Challenge brought 38 coaches and their families to Woodson West. There we played a full game (45 minute halves) and in the end, the Coaches of the Girl's Teams came out victorious over the Coaches of the Boy's Teams  with a score of 5-1. (Although really, the lines got a little blurry in today's game. We had coaches switching back and forth as new coaches came in and some had to leave... so it wasn't PURELY the Girl's Coaches beating out the Boy's Coaches...) (But we'll say it was.) (wink) (smile)

After morning rain, and some clouds that rolled in during the game... we were lucky, and got the whole event in without bad weather.

Our officiating crew included Bob Heyer (one of our U19B coaches) and Dan Lemieux (past Registrar and Commissioner).

After the game coaches hung around and snacked on subs from Santini's and a cake decorated like a soccer field. While they snacked we pulled raffle prizes donated by BRYC and Dick's Sporting Goods. Coaches won tickets to DC United games, gift certificates to Dick's, equipment, and first aid kits. This season EVERY COACH walked away with a prize!

But the real prize is the fun... and getting to meet and to know other coaches... as well as having the opportunity to play the game we all teach.

THANK YOU to all our fabulous coaches!! We hope you enjoyed this season's game... and we look forward to another GREAT season of soccer!!
