The webmaster didn’t plan it, but there may have been method in the his madness of starting a photo contest. Several years ago he just happened to notice a parent photographer at a field one week and talked him into travelling the county on All Star tournament weekend. This season the webmaster could actually audition people for the part! And while it was certainly not a requirement of the award, Jennifer Bell, BRYC’s prize winning Fall 2010 "Official Photographer" (see story below) was kind enough to spend the better part of two days in late November snapping action photos at close to a dozen tournament games. Along with a few photos taken by the webmaster, the result was close to 1,000 of them of 15 teams, from U8’s to U19’s. Here are mini versions of just a few of them to whet your appetite for the rest....
Now, 400 photos is just a few too many to post to the BRYC site so we’ve gone "off-site" to let those who are interested see them all. Click on "Continue" below for instructions on how to access your team’s photos, or all 400 if you’re really interested. Thanks again to Jenn Bell for spending the All Star weekend volunteering her time for BRYC. It is greatly appreciated.
400 plus photos have now been loaded in 15 web albums on Picasa, the Google photo sharing site, one for each of the fifteen teams whose games we got to on All Star Weekend. That includes the following:
U8 Boys Onibudo U8 Girls Stuart U9 Girls Reeves U10 Boys Ross U10 Girls Fredrick U11 Boys Lemieux U11 Girls Diaz U12 Boys Parady U13 Boys Riesco U12 Girls Sullivan/Smith U16 Boys Diamond U16 Boys Peyser U16 Girls Patecell U19 Boys Kelleher U18 Girls Alcorn
If we didn’t make it to see and photograph your team we’re sorry. We were on the run from early morning to failing light both days and simply couldn’t get around to every location.
Here’s the procedure. Go to the Picasa web site at www.picasa.google.com. (No sign-up or membership is required.) In the search box at the top of the page simply enter "BRYC All Stars Fall 2010" followed by the last name of your All Star coach. Only a few photos will be displayed but at the bottom of the page, click on the link asking if you want to view "omitted results" and the rest of them, anywhere from 20-60 of them, will appear. At this point, by clicking on any one of the pictures you’ll have all the usual options of going to full screen, slide show, printing, downloading, etc.
Hopefully that’s simple enough and works just as described. If you have any problems please email brycstars@aol.com and we’ll try to help.
